Who We Are
Caroline Verschoor and Jon-Paul Saunier
Our Story
We started Ekster Antiques in 1999 after the death of our 3 1/2 year old son, Ewan from a malignant brain tumor. Throughout the years, we've had stores in historic Leesburg, Virginia and Brunswick, Maryland. In 2010, we decided to close our store front so we could sell and showcase our goods in the perfect location - our historic 8,000-square-foot former dairy barn barn in Hamilton, Virginia! We now have weekend sales events several times a year. Learn more about our Barn Sale Events »
Caroline's Style
Pure. Natural. Recycled. Reclaimed. Those elements - combined with the Scandinavian aesthetic - define my style. I love a mix of old and new - of antiques and modern. I believe that one piece makes a large statement. And I only sell things that I love. I travel to Europe several times a year to find old and new wares to sell for our sales events.
As Seen In
Our homes and Ekster Antiques have been featured in several books, magazines, and other publications including Romantic Prairie Style, New Cottage Style, Romantic Country, Country Home, Country French, Country Living, Creative Home, The Washington Post, Washingtonian, and more.
